About me

Welcome to Teaching Dunn Simply! My name is Leslie and I have my specialist degree in Early Childhood Education and a certified educator in the great state of Georgia.  I have been teaching almost ten years and love elementary education and classroom management. 

As I said before, I am from Georgia and enjoy sweet tea!  My husband and I have two beautiful children and we are so blessed.  I honestly can't image what in the world I would do with my life other than teaching!  I am passionate about investing in children and helping them to become productive members of society.  

I'm so happy you are here today and hope you find answers and inspirations to use at your school and classroom.

I love all things Classroom Management, math, science, and social studies. As a student I hated math! I remember very well my aunt laughing explaining one day I would be a jam up math teacher. I thought to myself, "she is absolutely crazy"! Well, as you might have guessed, I LOVE teaching math. However, I do feel my dislike of math as a student molded me into a successful math teacher.

Classroom management is my jam! I have high expectations for my students and enjoy watching them exceed those expectations. Building healthy relationships with students is the most important classroom management tool. Take time and invest in your students.

I want to tell you, I think you are a superhero! Teaching is a tough profession and one that is done from the heart.
